NEGC Rhode Island Kicks Off Successfully

Twenty-seven people gathered Saturday, June 16 at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) to learn more about the Northeastern Girls Collaborative Project (NEGC). Hosted by Rhode Island’s Leadership Team Members, Shanna Wells of the RI Commission on Women, Erin Flynn of NEIT, and Jo Ann Johnson of the Tech Collective, the event encouraged participants to network about developing collaboratives for girls in STEM.

Keynote speaker Trudy Mandeville, President of the Tech Collective’s Women in Technology group, addressed STEM-subject barriers for girls. NEGC Regional Organizer Kristin Kelso presented information about mini-grants. Program attendees rated the program as excellent and well worth their while.
