Lucy Sanders
Lucy Sanders is CEO and Co-Founder of the National Center for Women and Information Technology. She also serves as Executive in Residence at the ATLAS (Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society) Institute at University of Colorado at Boulder (CU). She worked in development and executive positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Bell Labs, and Avaya Labs for over 20 years, where she specialized in systems-level software and solutions. In 1996, Ms. Sanders was awarded the Bell Labs Fellow Award and she has six patents in the communications technology area.
Ms. Sanders serves on several science, engineering, and school advisory boards. In 2004, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Department of Engineering at CU. She is also Conference Chair for the 2007 Grace Hopper Conference. Ms. Sanders received her B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Louisiana State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder, respectively.
