Donna Gerardi Riordan
Donna Gerardi Riordan joined the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) as Director of Programs in 2005. She is responsible for development, project direction and management, and is liaison with the National Academies. Before joining CCST, she was Founding Director of the Office on Public Understanding of Science at the National Academy of Sciences. She directed a variety of projects and programs in the National Academies and National Research Council from 1987–2000.
In 2001, she joined the University of California, Santa Cruz as a Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Higher Education and Science Policy and was founding Executive Director of the Children’s Neurobiological Solutions Foundation in 2003. Ms. Gerardi Riordan has acted as an advisor to numerous academic committees and organizations. She received her B.S. in biology from Georgetown University and her M.S. in science, technology, and public policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
